well, I haven't really posted on here lately...or on anything else for that matter. I've been busy wedding planning and whatnot, and cleaning the house and trying to find a way to fit all the freakin' crock pots I got into my kitchen cabinets.

Update on my life:

Wedding is July 22, at 6 pm, at my grandma's house. Reception is at the Leavenworth County Fairgrounds, in the Admin building. Dress hawaiian-casual. We're having the bridesmaids' dresses and the groomsmen's shirts made, by a company called Chappell Hill sewing, where a bitchy old woman works. She's been giving us all kinds of problems, calling mom at work to bitch about scheduling and whatnot, canceling fitting appointments half an hour before they are supposed to happen but getting mad at us for being late, pissing around for 3 weeks before starting to work on the stuff and then screaming about how it's our fault...

Such fun!

I had a bridal shower on saturday, I have another one today, and another this coming Saturday. After that comes my bachelorette party, on the 8th, which should be a blast. I'm really excited about it! Luci and Alicia are keeping in completely in the dark about what's going to be going on, of course, so I'm getting all nervous and twitchy hoping they don't do something completely crazy. Jason's brother is planning a surprise bachelor party for him (don't tell Jason!) that he's gonna absolutely love.

So, now, I'm writing thank-you notes to all the people who gave me presents for the first shower, trying to get them done before the shower tonight, when I'll get a bunch of new presents to write thank-you notes for. At least tonight's shower will be smaller, and I won't get 30 presents like at the last one.

So...if any of my friends want to get together and buy me a big wedding present, the new Nintendo DS Lite is $129 in stores now, and I really want one so I can get New Super Mario Bros and Super Princess Peach. Whee!

I've been reading this for a few years now...

Ethan reminds me of Jason. Lucas reminds me of what would happen if I was male. Lilah reminds me of a cross between me and Luci. It's so great....

Anyway, read it, and then maybe if you like it, check out the upcoming Animated Series at http://www.cad-premium.com. It's wicked cool. I signed up early and got a full year for only twenty bucks -- nice price, eh? However, the animations haven't started being released yet, so I can't vouch for the quality of the voice acting or the storyline. Just trust me, though; it'll be good.

Next up, we have officially made the decision that the wedding will still be in September. :-(

Oh, and would everyone who still reads this leave even just a little commment? I just wanna see who's stopping by when I'm not around, y'know.

Wedding Plans?

So, my family wants me and Jason to have our wedding Here at family reunion in July. It would cut costs considerably (no charge for the locations for ceremony OR reception) but it may make it difficult for everyone to attend. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject? It would be nice to get married a bit sooner; it feels like forever before September rolls around. Plus, it's only about an hour and a half from Topeka, maybe 2 hours from Kansas City (it's close to Nebraska City). I need advice; please help!

So, it has come to my attention that there are a few people who actually know this site exists, and who want to see more updates. It makes me feel good to get comments... I check them every day... lol. Anyway, I don't have all that much to talk about, although I did quit my job, and get a new one at Target. Best Buy just wasn't giving me enough hours, and they were treating me like shit. I was basically told that I don't have the technical knowledge required to run a string of virus removal programs off of a cd. Whatever. So, now, I'll be working in the Electronics department of Target in Topeka. Come see me, if you can!

Also, Jason and I are planning a huge party on the 2nd-3rd-4th of December, if you read this and I actually know you, try to come out! Email me or leave a comment if you need directions. We will be decorating for christmas during the day, and playing halo or whatever else you wanna do, all night. The main part will be the 3rd, but you are more than welcome to arrive on the 2nd and crash here. We're bringing in like 6 extra beds, a futon, and a couch, to go with what we've already got. It's gonna be great.

I hate my job. I loathe it, I despise it, and if it were a person, I would sneak into its bedroom at night to suffocate it with a pillowcase. I am so goddamned tired of people bitching at me because fucking UPS broke something when they shipped it. I'm not UPS customer service. I'm not even Best Buy customer service!

I got this job because I like working with computers. I am an antisocial loser, I do not like talking to people who don't understand what I'm saying. I don't like having to dumb down the things I say, especially the things that are so basic, so easy to comprehend, that people should not be sold computers if they do not understand these things!

I seriously think that every person should be required to take a week of classes before being allowed to buy a computer. The classes get you a one-year computer license. After that, you must take new classes to be able to purchase anything computer related, including video games or hardware peripherals. Anybody who fails the test should be invited to a party on my private cruise ship, which will coincidentally be blown up the day of the party. How sad...

So, anyway, not only does the job itself suck, but they keep scheduling me to come in at 7 am. The store doesn't open till 10, but I have to be there at 7 to try to clean out the backlog of computers that nobody else wants to work on. Fun stuff. So, this morning, as I drove to work at 6:15 am, I almost fell asleep at the wheel over and over again. Yippee...

I'm so tired...I think I'll go take a nap.

I have nothing of interest to post about, no deep thoughts or philosophical musings, no hilarious letters to insane organizations to share with you. However, I do want to bitch about this stupid duplex I'm living in.

First, we move in and find that the previous renter, wanting to portray himself as a mature fellow, "got back at" the landlord by spray painting things like "all about me" and "free to fart" on what is now my basement wall. We've managed to paint over about half of it, but we were stopped after that because the landlord wants to take the former renter to court, and needs photographic evidence. However, she cannot find her film camera, and the court will apparently not accept digital photography from her because her son is a graphic artist and could, i guess, alter the photos.

So, our basement is basically unusable, because we can't lay carpet until after we paint, and we don't want to sit and play our video games in a cold cement room with no carpet. We want soft warm floors! Because of this, we have two televisions, two entertainment systems, a computer desk, three tables, and various bookshelves and speakers, all crammed into our not-quite-medium sized living room. It's a pain in the ass, especially since our landlord, who also happens to be my future mother-in-law, is always here bitching about how it looks like a mess.

Next, here I am, minding my own business, washing my hair, when suddenly the showerhead falls on me and almost breaks my foot. The walls in the bathroom were just painted sheetrock, with some poorly-done ceramic tile up to about hip level, and the dampness from the shower had caused them to mold and swell and get really nasty. So, after dilly-dallying around for almost a month, finally the landlords hired a ROOFER (not a plumber, not a sheetrocker, a ROOFER!) to tear out the walls in the shower, including the godforsaken window (why in the hell was there a window in my shower?), and put up new walls and a new showerhead. Well, the guy and his buddy came and tore the stuff out, Put up new sheetrock, and said, "We'll be back in 3 days to finish. Bye!" So, we waited 3 days, they came back, and they put up some ugly fake-looking plastic tile sheets. Got the showerhead put up, la-dee-da, told us not to use the shower for 24 hours. Okay. So, 24 hours later, I take a shower, and it leaks all down the wall, and it leaks in the basement.
We call him, he comes out 2 days later, does some random shit, and says, "I'll be back in 2 days to finish." Damn, how much did they pay him to do this? Well, he finishes it, Jason gets in the shower after the 24 hour waiting period, and the whole showerhead assembly falls out of the wall onto him. That was 4 days ago. He's told the guy 5 or 6 times that we really need this thing fixed, and so far, nothing has happened. Great.

Then, yesterday, the back screen door breaks. Great. As if we didn't have enough problems. But wait, there's more!

We get home from shopping and our garage door remote won't work. Now, if any of you haven't ever had a garage door like ours, having a broken remote isn't necessarily a problem, because there's a little box on the house with a number pad, and you can just punch in a code. Unfortunately, our number-box doesn't really work either. Not only that, but our INSIDE button doesn't work either! We suspect that the rampant mouse colony in our neighbors' garage might have something to do with our electrical problems. Anyway, I'm sure some of you are thinking, "Why not just open it by hand?" Well, Sears had this really great idea, to make garage doors that were not able to be manually opened unless you actually removed them from the door track. Wonderful invention, Sears! We now have a garage door that is removed from its track, and held shut with a pair of garden clippers on the inside. Sigh.

I think that's all the problems we've had so far, but who knows? I could be forgetting something. I'll add more later :-)

Well.

I've been trying to post to this stupid thing off and on for weeks now, and every time I do I either get interrupted, the internet stops working, or blogger takes a big dump on my plans. Piece of poop.

Since my last post, I have:

Gotten a puppy: She's small, black, cute, and named Gizmo. She's half black lab and half something else, maybe some sort of pointer? She's sooooo cute!

Started working out: I've been doing pilates at least every other day, sometimes more, and I've been taking the dog out for long jog/walk/run things. I'm trying to get in better shape because to me, round and squishy just isn't a good shape to be.

Begun saving up my money: My paychecks are better than some, but not great, and we're gonna have to start paying bills in just over a month. Yuck. So, I'm trying to keep about $100 out of each paycheck to help out when the time comes.

I got a job! I'm now an agent of the Geek Squad at Best Buy (for $10 bucks an hour, i'll do anything!). I don't start till the 27th or 28th, though, because I'm leaving Sunday morning to go to West Virginia for family reunion. Yippee...

Family reunions are not exactly my favorite thing ever...For those who don't already know, my family consists of about 120 people who all like each other way more than is necessary and who all like to spend time together. We have a birthday party for 2-5 people each month, just as an excuse to get together, and we have our own family website at myfamily.com that family members can log in to and post pictures of their kids and stuff. I guess it makes the older folks feel more included, especially since the family is scattered all across the U.S.

The problem with family reunions, though, is that everyone is either quite a bit older than me, or quite a bit younger. Their is a whole passel of kids from 1 month to 12 years old, like seriously 20 kids, but in my age group there are me, my cousin darren (i.e. drug dealer extraordinaire), and my cousin austen (i.e. preppy spikey-haired asshole). Next up the line are people in their mid-late twenties, and then the people of mom's generation. In short, I have no female companionship near my own age. My options are Robin (my 12 year old sister) or Shana (my 28 year old cousin). Nobody seems to notice that I have nobody to talk to, but they sure as hell all notice when I retreat to my room to read a book! Then, of course, it's "Where'd Jana go? Why isn't she out here having fun with us?"

Nevertheless, it wouldn't be so bad, except they have these reunions every single freakin year. AND, the reunions typically last anywhere from 4 to 10 days. This year is a 10 day get-together, and I'm quite looking forward to being bored to tears. YAY! Such excitement. *sigh*

Oh, and Harry Potter: The Half-Blood Prince won't be delivered till noon Sunday, which means I have to wait till I get back to read it. Stupid mail-forwarding system.

But hey, I got a job!
